EncryptionSecurity: - As with most industries, email has become and essential tool for the legal industry because it provides the ability to communicate and send documents instantly, at a minimal cost. However, because the Internet is a public domain, email is an inherently insecure and risky means of communication. Using standard email packages with unencrypted messaging exposes users to serious security risks. PointClear Communications recognizes this risk and has implemented the most advanced and user-friendly secure encryption technology into our email system. By doing so, a single click of a mouse will enable PointClear MCS users to easily communicate securely with virtually anyone in the world.

At the heart of this software is an El Gamal-based 128-bit public/private key encryption system. Embedded into every message sent from PointClear MCS is the sender's 128-bit public key. Upon receipt of an email, the sender's public key is automatically entered into a database of keys in their system. For those recipients who do not use PointClear MCS, a "reader/responder" can accompany the encrypted message, and will allow them to easily decrypt the message and respond with an encrypted message. From that point forward, all email between the sender and recipient can be transmitted securely.
